Manhattan in Brooklyn.

On 9/11/11, after spending the afternoon at Ground zero, we didn't feel like going out to party. We ate in Chinatown and headed to the Brooklyn Academy of Music for a movie. When we arrived there, we found out that there was a free screening of Woody Allen's Manhattan. We decided to go for it. What an original way to pay hommage to the City and its People. It was moving, beautiful and funny too. Surely an other unforgettable moment we spent in New York...

Al and Robert...

Just finished to watch the Godfather trilogy. I know it's cliché like hell, but I always had a massive crush for (on?) Al Pacino and Robert de Niro.

Magnificent One

I've always been swinging between the "girly-girl" and the "tomboy". As a child, my favorite film was The Magnificent Seven. My tomboy side dreamt of wild rides on the Mexican frontier, but my girly-girl side was madly/deeply in love with Steve McQueen a.k.a Vin. Isn't he gorgeous in his pink shirt? Max and I watched a bit of the movie yesterday, and ahhh, my love is still intact...

Cannes

Tonight is the 64th Cannes Film Festival's opening. I used to watch the ceremony on tv, back in France. There's always something magical about it. This year I'll miss it. Are you going to watch it?
Juste an anecdote. One year, my first year of University - when I didn't go much to Uni-, I watched a french show "Le Grand Journal de Canal+ à Cannes" every evening. One night, Eric and Ramzy- a french comedian duo- were the guests. They are very funny. Though what happened wasn't premedited: Ramzy came in running on the stage and fell off the table! It was so surprising that Camoyt(the friend who watched it with me) and I couldn't stop laughing- for days! Poor him though, he really hurt himself.

Bonne journée et vive le Cinéma!

Pain's Crescendo

This past week, I've been watching lots of new films. These three, all beginning with letter B (I've just noticed), touched me the most. I don't know where it is from that I've got this empathy for everything, everyone, real or fiction. It feels like I don't live in this world, so I live characters's lives emotionally.
Black Swan for the fear.
Biutiful for the loss of hope or gain of it, because in the end our life is so easy.
Blue Valentine for the loss of love.
