.au bout de la branche.

It is the last day of may. Now, real summer will come, and the fruits will grow on this apple tree. I love watching nature's progress, it makes me think that everything always change, evolve for the best.

 Tuesday, I turned 26. I had a normal day, working,
lots of lovely messages, and a fun night with girlfriends.
But the best early present, was to spend some time with those little rascals!

A short visit to England has been planned for months now, so I won't be around for some days.
See you soon!

Humans of New York

I discovered recently that tumblr, Humans of New York. And found out that the city is a village, I recognize lots of people from his photos. Especially that guy in the fountain, I was actually sitting with my friend Isolde just close by...

Ok, I keep writing it, saying it, dreaming it, but I think I've been marked for life by New York. It's been some weeks I have that recurent dream, that I'm walking in the streets of Brooklyn, then down to the subway, missing the train, the one to the airport. In my dreams I always miss the last plane to Paris and stay there, strolling back to the brownstones... Today, I'm quite (-very-) nostalgic, and the radio is not helping - on air : Anthony and the Johnsons Fistfull of Love

Have a happy weekend...

. recipe: elderflower cordial.

Yesterday, I've been making elderflower cordial. It is such a tasteful and fresh drink for the warm spring coming.

Makes about 1,5 L:

*20 heads of elderflower
* 1,5L of water
* 1kg of sugar
* 6 unwaxed lemons ( or 2 lemons and 75g of citric acid)

1 - shake flowers to release insects.

2 - put the water to boil in a large pan with the sugar. stirr until the sugar is completely dissolved.

3 - peal the lemons (keep the zest of 2 - i've put all the zest and it made it a bit bitter), slice them and reserve. when water is boiled up, take off the heat and add flowers, lemons slices and zest. cover with a cloth and leave at room temperature for 24hrs.

4 - next day, strain the cordial through a sieve lined with muslin and pour into nice bottles with screw-on lids.

5 - now serve it with some cool sparkling water...

.pot pourri du mercredi.

I think I'm going to categorize my posts. Starting today with the .wednesday mix., a collection of events, inspirations and discoveries of the week. You are very welcome to tell your impressions...

*Sunday 6th of may 2012 - We've elected our new President: François Hollande.
It is quite a relief and I hope it will bring a new dynamism to Europe as well.

* I've listened to Adele almost all week long. It is a sort of way out of daily life, a link with England, a way to cry a bit and a base for voice practice.

* Yesterday I watched Eastern Promises. (Yes I'm very late.) It was quite traumatic, - I even dreamt someone cut my throat! - but the scenario is well written and the actors brilliant.

* Tonight we're going to watch a Hip Hop dance show: R.A.F CREW - CITY'Z.
I'll probably post about it tomorrow...

the actual french political context is keeping my mind a bit busy nowadays, that's why posting remains sporadic. it will end next sunday and inspiration will hopefully be back.
in the meantime, wherever you are, i wish you good.

la fréquence de posts aléatoire du blog s'inscrit dans le contexte politique français actuel. j'espère être moins préoccupée et plus inspirée d'ici la semaine prochaine... quant à vous, lecteurs/trices, profitez bien de la life.
