"Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day..."

I love putting music on loud while I'm cooking. Usually, when I'm with Max (3), we listen to Bill Withers, it's a sort of ritual. So when the second song started, he said "That's our song!", I confirmed and asked what was the title, he naturally answered "Just the two of us!"... (He is singing along right now!) That's what I love with children, everyday something new :)
Today, the weather is awful, stuck inside we have to cheer ourselves up, so we listen to "our song" and we're going to make some pancakes...

Deep in my Soul-The Present

Raphael Saadiq- personal favorite.
Duffy.
John Legend.
Amy Winehouse.
Aloe Blacc-Emma's chouchou.
Adele.

The today's version of Soul singers, those that make you think that things are still possible.

Deep in my Soul-The Origins

Hey Marvin!

This post is not exactly about my brain, it's about Soul, as a music genre.

There are some artists you can't stop listening to. I mean you can listen to the same song 5 times in a row or to the whole album without getting bored for a second. That's what I feel with these six, to name just a few (there are many others-I had to make a selection).
Dusty Springfield.
Diana Ross.
Bill Withers.
Aretha Franklin.

In fact, it is about (my) brain, about soul. Soul as a person's essence, not necessarily in a religious meaning, because I am not (religious). Their Soul inspires (me) a lot, and has the power to touch you deep in yourself.

Sunny Grange

A couple of weeks ago, on a thursday, it was so sunny and warm that it felt like spring was pointing it's nose. I went to have a walk around the antique shops and found these little goodies. Then I sat on a bench in the Grange and stayed there for a long moment with my eyes closed and the kissing sun on my cheeks. It was a lovely day, it was also the day I wrote that sad post. But, let's just think about the sun!

R.I.P Annie and Jane

Annie Girardot,
Jane Russel,

two different women, different but both gorgeous and talented.

They went away yesterday.

Just a thought for them.
