.NYC.I.Miss.You.

Ok, I keep writing it, saying it, dreaming it, but I think I've been marked for life by New York. It's been some weeks I have that recurent dream, that I'm walking in the streets of Brooklyn, then down to the subway, missing the train, the one to the airport. In my dreams I always miss the last plane to Paris and stay there, strolling back to the brownstones... Today, I'm quite (-very-) nostalgic, and the radio is not helping - on air : Anthony and the Johnsons Fistfull of Love

Have a happy weekend...

Last night, in my dream.

Izzy

Hello,
last night, like every other night since september, I dreamt that I was back in New York City. I've never thought I would become that obsessed unconsciously. Some people said to me, that if you go there once, you'd wanna go back again. I'm no exception to the rule. Actually, it's no real surprise, when you feel you have not a hince of excitement in your life, you try to escape through your dreams I guess...

Manhattan in Brooklyn.

On 9/11/11, after spending the afternoon at Ground zero, we didn't feel like going out to party. We ate in Chinatown and headed to the Brooklyn Academy of Music for a movie. When we arrived there, we found out that there was a free screening of Woody Allen's Manhattan. We decided to go for it. What an original way to pay hommage to the City and its People. It was moving, beautiful and funny too. Surely an other unforgettable moment we spent in New York...

Still.

Fulang-Chang and I. Frida Kahlo. MoMA. NYC. Sept 2011.

Still.
Standing still in front of the painting.
Just my mind wandering away.
Away to Mexico.
But it's sadness in her eyes.
Sadness and pride.
Love.

Taxidrops falling on my head

Another great illustration from James Gulliver Hancock- All the buildings in New York. Everything that comes to NY is making me awfully and wonderfully nostalgic...

Eyes on New York Nº7

In Williamsburg. Brooklyn.
on the sidewalk,
on the wall.

Rolling.

The last day in NY, we went to Coney Island. Was a funnily quiet place (middle of september), except for a DJ on the boardwalk (!) in the middle of the afternoon, with people dancing and all...

It must have been something at the beginning of the XXth Century!

Makes me think that I've been watching Boardwalk Empire during the past 2 weeks. The plot, the set, the actors, the music, the COSTUMES!!!, everything makes it a good series! Highly recomended!

Hope you are having fun in your lives!

Eyes on New York Nº4-Brooklyn Street Art-1

I can definitely say that my favorite area was Brooklyn in general. It felt like home. People seemed real. Streets were artistically alive. Colourful.

On the corner of our street, Jefferson st. in Bushwick.

On Kent or Wythe ave. in Williamsburg, I don't remember...

Eyes on New York Nº3-Rainy City

On the first day, it was raining from morning to dawn, but we still walked around A lot, from Union Square to Times Square, then Bryant Park and Fifth Ave...

Eyes on New York Nº2-City Animals

While you walk along in Midtown Manhattan, you might come across city cuddlies.

Goliath may have lost his teddy...

...but this truck driver takes his all around!
